This is a good park for waking along a river with sometimes bluebells (flowers). It can however get a bit muddy when it has been a lot of rain recently. We saw a blacksnake in a tree onetime. Nice park for people who don't like too many hills.
One of the best state park campgrounds ever visited - according to my adventure buddy, someone who has been to dozens of state parks. Really beautiful and nice place to camp near the Shenandoah national park. We loved that you parked our car and brought our camping thins in by foot (really short walk) because. the campground wasn't filled with automobiles and huge RVs. Campground was a B-U-T. (Beauty) cool lightning storm all night.
10/10 activity
Very pretty with well maintained trails and scenic drives. Several good vantage points for pictures. The restroom facilities are also well maintained.
We had no cell signal at all - a plus for us. This was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy one another without real life pressing in. We will be back!
BEAUTIFUL! We stayed in a cabin on park grounds, and I didn't want to leave. We could see the milky way from our porch rockers, and it was incredibly quiet. Everything is clean and well-maintained. We tubed the river and ziplined - the staff are super fun and friendly.
Great place! We stopped to get another park for the Virginia state park pin challenge. We are glad we did! Beautiful park. We stopped at the visitor's center, which had neat interactive displays. We hiked the trail from the visitor's center to the observation platform. Very beautiful!
